We go out to local neighbourhoods and performance venues to reclaim wood and repurpose this material into community furniture. We wanted to bring this technology to the residents, and we created a series of prototype chairs together.
Resident involvement was made possible by the Digital Fabrication Method, which includes.

Three reasons for Co-creation - Statement of problems
Why do we need Co-creation?
Enhance the ability of the community to recycle wood on its own
Since it is difficult to recycle the waste produced in the community in factories, if the community itself can digest the waste materials produced in the community, a lot of carbon dioxide emissions can be saved.
Human-centred design
allowing users to participate directly in creating community facilities ensures that the design meets the users' needs.
Collective creativity
the public has a lot of life experiences that can be learnt from the younger generation and designers. Innovative thinking and design approaches can be achieved through close cooperation and exchange of experience in small groups, and mutual understanding among people of different backgrounds can be enhanced.
AI application in cultural design innovation
Modelling (1:5)
Learn about ‘Shrinking Plastic Wood Joints’ during the model building process.
User needs and furniture inspiration
Diversify our thoughts on chair design.
Ergonomics
This helped the participants to understand how people are most comfortable using the chair and to use this as a template to design the chair proportions. Each group member posed in a pose, took a photo, held the pose and then measured the proportions of the limbs. A drawing of the human body was made to combine posture and size.
AI-assisted design
Using AI to generate designs using blended imagery (Midjourney).
Design criteria
Modern design in the 20th century focused on form, style and materials. What should community furniture design focus on in today's social and ecological environment?
